Baxter Bayou is a long-term care facility in the heart of our town. Established in 1963, our goal has always been to provide quality care for your loved ones and to become part of your family as you face the problems of sickness, injury, and advanced aging.
Lurleen Thibodeaux started Baxter Bayou in a small facility on the original property. Today, the facilities include a long-term residential care facility that can house 130 patients with a large garden behind the main building where residents can sit and visit with friends and family.
“This facility is a family-run business, and we do everything with family in mind. That means our family is joining with your family,” said Ms.Thibodeaux in describing her goals with the facility. Residents have regular recreational activities every day and there are several trips offsite every month to local attractions, events, and shopping. The facility also has its own beauty salon and barbershop, a dining room, a coffee bar, two sitting rooms, and a crafts room. The facility also has a large conference room that can be reserved by families for birthdays or other important family events.
Baxter Bayou is a skilled nursing facility for residents who require rehabilitation services or physical therapy.
